In 1 Corinthians 5:12, Paul asks, "For what business is it of mine to judge outsiders?" His focus is on calling the Church to holiness. Meanwhile, lost people are going to act like lost people.
Conversely, in his next letter in 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, Paul reminds the Corinthians of what their calling is; not demanding a lost world act like Jesus absent of a saving knowledge of Him, but rather serving as reconcilers inviting all others to be reconciled to God through Christ in the first place.
"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, "Be reconciled to God.'"
